Alyssa--I don't know a thing about 90% of your articles--but I do know something about breaking from the platforms that control creativity. I taught for 32 years and began writing novels (5) ten years ago. I decided to self-pub through Createspace, which Amazon consumed. So now I have the Kindle Direct platform to sell my work; needless to say they take a healthy cut of print and only 30% of kindle sales.
