And How They Promote Truth
In 1906, Mark Twain, a journalist of the humorous persuasion, explained, “Citizenship is what makes a republic; monarchies can get along without it.”
Today, the republic is threatened by an ex-president who wishes to make himself a king. It is incumbent on every American to educate themselves on the impending attack on this republic. I find that five journalists speak to the issues of the day, specifically the battle for the soul of our country.
First and foremost, American history professor from Boston College, Heather Cox Richardson illuminates the issues that challenge democracy. Her “Letters From An American” is a daily reminder of the facts. The truth is footnoted and written in plain English.
