Here is my point: ( as I wrote in the essay) “Swift writes about life and what it is and has been for her and other women, young and old. That’s what storytellers do. She not only sings about female empowerment — but far more importantly –she lives it. After she lost her rights to a shady manager, much like other musicians have, Swift has re-recorded most of her albums so she can own her work (Taylor’s Version).”

Of course I know much of what you have written ( not John Mayer) and I very much appreciate the time you took to write. As for the scholarly conferences, I still think the over-the-top pretensions in classes still irks me. However, I will read the article and LEARN from it because a closed mind is the dying kind.

Again thank you for your superb essay and rebuttal to those ‘haters’ and ‘bubble gum snobs’ out there.

Ps my favorite album is RED.
