Hmm. I don’t know the song or video so I am at a disadvantage. Rock n roll was inherently sexual. I agree they should be able to be sexy and liberated. I suppose what is seen as sexually explicit and provocative is a moving target. Is Beyoncé or Jennifer Lopez slutish as they dance? The lines are blurred so much. As a former high school English teacher, I know this song’s title alone would make me uncomfortable if presented in class as a poetic expression. My students knew that lyrics had to be radio play to be used in class one last thing, this was discussed as the “mid drift’ girls sexual issue in Douglas Rushkoff’s documentary “The Merchants of Cool.” On PBS. Teenage girls of every color need to see what the message is conveying to boys , men, and the other women and ask themselves if that is “who they are and what they value”.
