My former agent Laura Strahan out of Annapolis told me much of what you just said about how the money for new / independent authors is a trickle bc of how the famous folks receive the bulk.
It used to bother me a decade ago, but now I write what I want when I want for whom I want.
Your response to me was like gold, however. I get reviews from ‘my loyal readers’ but when someone in the business writes me (and is not a former student haha), it makes me smile and helps validate my thoughts.
You and Linda Carroll are my two favs on medium.
