Janice. I regularly read your essays. I also regularly agree. This one is spot on. I am a self published author ( 6 novels and a memoir) and a retired English teacher. I really understand how difficult and time consuming it is to read even an essay. i did it for 32 years. All two week 'vacations' equaled 10 papers every day.
And that was my job.
