John. My best advice. Have him sit with you and watch Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird “. Sure it’s in black and white— but how Atticus shows his kids courage under fire is so critical. Two scenes are key. 1 when Atticus sits at the courthouse without a gun and defends Tom Robinson ( his daughter Scout helps him turn these rioters who want to lynch Tom into fathers like her dad is critical. 2. When Atticus is called a nigger- lover by the villain and he merely uses his handkerchief to wipe away the spit on his face reduces the evil to dust.
To show courage in the face of daunting odds — that’s what manhood is. What heroism is.
It’s what those soldiers did on Omaha Beach.
