Man, you are exactly the person who should not be working with teachers of any age. You are not completely wrong but your are not at all accurate. Yes. 50% of teachers leave in the first 5 years; however, the ones who realize that teaching is an art, a lifestyle. and a difference maker for hundreds / thousands of their students — those are the professional teachers that are priceless. Speaking of price, yes. I agree about wages. But that is not a reason to tell our brightest minds ( filled with spirit ) to abandon ship; those wages are what needs to change along with the attitudes of tax paying citizens.
