Obviously I agree. Many of the same comic book influences and macho characters have existed for decades. What makes the last 20+ years different is that 1. The rate of divorce has gone up to the 50% of marriages from 20% 2. More men have abdicated their responsibilities to raise boys and girls since they leave the family. 3. Too many parents who stick it out are overwhelmed by the weight of finances leaving too many young adults to figure out what they believe in at a time when their decisions are the most impactful to themselves and society at large. Finally, 4 . Guns outnumber people. Assault weapons have not been banned. So when a kid snaps, the gun is available.
