Peter.

Rates jumped you say and give one example. I have two responses 1. I can speak to that directly in California being insured via Cobra pre Covid was $600 a month. Post-Covid ( depending on age/ income) $200.

If insured by a company ( or school district) for me it was $2,500 with the district covering the extra cost which was at least that much. So business cost is always far less bc of the pool of employees. 2. I am not sure you would pay $24k – that’s a lot.

3. For the 40 million who could get coverage and that included their 26 yr old kids as well as not being denied bc of pre-existing conditions, it was a life saver.

4. Finally. Cost differed on states. If your state did not explain Medicaid they could not get access to the money from the ACA ( TX AND FL for example) costs were higher.

I think ACA did need adjustments. But in the end the benefits outweighed the shortcomings. (Rates were jumping BC insurance companies also kept ramping the costs too.) I appreciate your response. Bob
