President Biden’s Report Card on America’s Top 10 Issues

An A for Effort and a B+ for Results.

This was how I saw the issues President Biden faced going into his presidency in order of priority. Here’s how things have shaken out almost three years into his term. My grade follows each issue.

1. Climate Change / Global Warming: David Attenborough gives us 10 years (2030) before vast portions of Earth are no longer livable due to the temperature and lack of water. So that means the Paris Accords need to be back with a new twist — more stern requirements across the board. (Trump F: Biden A-) The Biden Administration did sign the Paris Accords and he has passed legislation that makes moving to renewables speed up; however, he knows that it will require a transition off of fossil fuels. The problem is we simply do not have the time to make a slow transition. The world is burning up NOW.

2. Climate Change/ American Division: Decency is on the ballot and that is Biden’s ace-in-the-hole. He needs to decrease the heat under a boiling kettle of anger and resentment. Not a simple task. Not something that changes in a year. Or a term. But necessary. Compromise and genuine concern for all Americans in red states and blue. (Trump F: Biden B) Again he has made the effort, but it takes two to tango and the Republicans have no interest in reducing the animosity and
