Scary. For sure. We feel that our children’s danger is both a reflection on our skills parenting but the dread of seeing their collapse.
I have seen it in the family of a very close friend whose brother died on the streets after years of mental anguish. That funeral was both awful and one of relief for the family because the pain of all involved was finally over.
