Well, Anna, I read it all ( or at least ‘enough’). It is as your name states ‘mercurial’ in its anger a d frustration.

I believe that the younger generation is in a tough spot financially and environmentally. Without two incomes or parent’s support, it is a hill too deep to climb ( just for housing). However, my feeling is that you sound to me like a person who should go into teaching. High school students would adore your spunky and worldview. I say this as a retired 32 year teacher who helped many young people and felt fulfilled in doing so.

Rather than ‘do nothing’ I say do something. Spread the word and empower kids to better understand that less is more. That there is something more valuable than any bobble at Amazon — appreciation, loyalty, compassion, and the one thing your essay avoids — love.

I just authored a piece on the subject of teaching and it’s positive.
