…ing with parents much earlier — in elementary school — about the role of technology in kids’ lives. Teachers or principals should tell parents of third and fourth graders that the research clearly shows that they should wait until their kids are at least 13 to give them a smartphone. Perhaps they should even invite parents to sign onto a collective pledge like “Wait Until 8th.”
