Yep. That’s part of it. The other part lies in the fact that either the assignment means nothing tontura student other than a hoop to jump through or that the assignment is generic and not created by the teacher to be unique to the class’s lessons.
Another thought. Try a lesson that really tests the students’s ability to critically think. Something unique.
Example. In class if need be, ask them to write whom in their personal like best exemplifies Atticus Finch? Cite two examples of the qualities they share with Atticus. If no one in their life is compatible, then the question is why? Cite two examples of the lack of compassion and tolerance they experience.
