Yes, I agree that a pox has been delivered on both houses; and the delivery came from an administration at the presidential level that is so willfully foolish and selfish that a terrible price has been paid by far too many people. That I think we can agree on. I think your response to me was extraordinary; one of the finest, most thoughtful I have had the good luck to encounter. You are correct, it is a choice between two bad options. And I think the B choice is the only way a governor can go, Here in CA. we have had a very good reaction from the people, especally in my home town of San Diego. They have done exactly what you mention in choice B — been responsible, business as well as the general public. I consider that is because of Gov. Newsom’s leadership. (I wasn’t a great fan of his as I was of Gov. Brown, but he has risen to the occaion.)
As for TX, I hope that the people there do not make the mistakes that are being made in 26 of our states (I know CA is listed as one.) From what I saw on the news in FL. and Indiana, it is very concerning. Time will tell.
Finally, a note. You are a smart, well evidenced writer. I have taught a few and I can tell one I I read them and when they respond. Bravo. Keep up the good work. Robert
