Your definition of reasonable. Lincoln lost so many races it boggles the mind. JFK was too ‘inexperienced’ people said — and same said of Obama. Gerald Ford was a Congressman who was not even elected but in my view ( and President Carter’s I might add) he was the right man for the two year job. I know you are making a valid point , but only 2 women of color have ever entered the Senate. One of them Ms Harris would give up a key senate seat. ( I admit she would be my choice.)
